Maine Lighthouse tours

Each of our guided tours is unique and different from the other. Each tour has been carefully planned for your maximum enjoyment. Our intention is for you to relax your mind and refresh your spirit as you tour the beautiful coast of Maine to see our magnificent beacons of light and spectacular scenery.  You have 3 great tours from which you can choose.

Some of the tours fill fast and some overnight accommodations are very limited.  Therefore all tours for 2008 need to be booked 4 months in advance of the tour date. The tour bus and driver as well as our overnight stays need  to be booked way ahead or the tour may have to be cancelled.  We will be unable to wait beyond the allowed time for bookings and will cancel the tour if it is not filled. Late reservations may be possible if there is a cancellation and room for you on the tour.

We cannot guarantee your reservation until we receive your registration fee of $350.00, payable by check only - balance is due 60 days prior to the tour departure, unless other arrangements are made.    Cost of tour is based on 15 to 30 guests, and based on single, couple or three sharing room.

You will see, 12 to 25  lighthouses on each tour. The Down East Tour is our most extensive...we will visit, or see, more than 20  lighthouses, depending on time and weather. We'll travel almost all the entire coast from southern Maine to Pure Down East. On this tour you will see the best of Maine. Considering the length of the tour and all the things planned for you, the estimated cost of the tour is about $269.00 per day.

The Downeast has so much untouched beauty and is less crowded.   We will travel through the blueberry capital of the world during blueberry season.    This is the REAL Downeast where the sun shines first in the US.  Includes a whale watch on the Bay of Fundy, lobster bake, tour of Pres. Roosevelt's summer home on Campobello Island and more...

On each tour you will be able to go inside one or more lighthouses.

Bookings received after final payment date will be accepted up to 7 days prior to the tour date and subject to availability. A late fee of $30.00 will be applied to each person.

If you decide not to participate in some of the activities, that will be up to you, but no refund will be given on meals or activities outside the tour group. To get the most out of the tour and enjoy a "Real Maine Experience", you should plan to stay with the group.

We strongly suggest taking out TRAVEL INSURANCE.... Maine Expressions is not responsible for any deficiencies on the part of hotels, restaurants, transportation or  any company supplying tour inclusions and shall not become liable for loss, damage, injury, accident, delay, irregularity or expense arising from war, strikes, sickness, etc.  Maine Expressions will, also, not be responsible for other "Acts of God".  You will need to show us proof of insurance.

Maine Expressions reserves the right to cancel or alter a tour if circumstances warrant, such as lack of patronage. In that case, a full or equitable amount (such as booking another tour) will be refunded. Tours not filled 4 months prior to the tour date may be cancelled.

You will be responsible for your transportation to meet the tour, any meals not included, gratuities to the bus driver, hotel attendants & maids, local step on guides and tips for meals.

Your hotel, on the last day of the tour, is not included. If you wish us to make a reservation for that night, please advise.

You are now required to have a photo ID when touring with us. This regulation went into effect after 911 and is part of homeland security. Please bring your passport along with a photo ID. This is necessary on some of the tour boats and a driver's license may not be proof of citizenship.  We will be going into Canada when we travel Downeast .

Again, Maine Expressions strongly suggests cancellation, baggage & medical insurance is obtained.    If for some reason the tour is cancelled and you have purchased your plane ticket, you will be protected and if you get sick or injured, you will have protection.

You will want to bring your camera, binoculars, sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, warm clothing (it does get quite cool on the coast, especially on the boats), rubber sole shoes for walking on the rocks and uneven ground, flashlight, motion sickness pills (if you think you will need them), and your plans for a wicked good time

One very important thing for you  to consider, is the fact that summertime in Maine is when the Inns, Bed and Breakfast's fill up months in advance and we have to book our tour bus and driver several months ahead.  So you must book early in order for us to get the best accommodations.

LEAVE ALL YOUR CARES BEHIND!   Sit back, relax and leave all the planning and driving to us.

The itinerary is subject to slight changes, due to time, tide and weather.
